L.I.T. Experience

THE L.I.T. (Leader in Training) EXPERIENCE.... All the benefits of a leadership camp, conveniently delivered to your school!

 Goal Of The Programs

The goal of the programs is to allow students to learn important leadership skills, learn how to work effectively with peers and mentors, and of course, best of all; learn more about themselves!

Its focus is to develop leadership skills and provide positive in-school experiences. Students meet in school to participate in activities such as initiative games, cooperative activities, and completing tasks that allow students to develop their leadership potential.

 Benefits Of The Program

It teaches the skills that would help students become leaders in their schools by:

  •  Promoting co-operation and teamwork.
  •  Boosting self confidence and self esteem.
  •  Teaching recognition and utilization of personal strengths.
 Eight Themes

The program will highlight the following areas of leadership:

Self-Confidence

The course will help students improve their self-image and gain beneficial skills, enthusiasm and inner strength. Students learn to solve problems creatively and effectively.

Inter-Personal Relations

Students learn to acquire a deeper understanding of the feelings and needs of others. They learn to win people's respect and trust, and to inspire and motivate them to act for good.

Planning & Teambuilding Skills

Students will have several opportunities to practice teambuilding. In one teambuilding exercise might be asked to create a play day for younger students. The process involves brainstorming, listening, and taking others people's interests by combining all ideas to make one big successful event!

Building Trust

Without trust, a leader won't have any followers.
The students will have to go through a series of trust exercises that allows them to focus on the needs of the whole rather than the individual.

Creative Thinking & Innovation

Brainstorming techniques teach young potential leaders how to come up with innovative ideas and develop their creativity. The students will participate in a number of initiatives and creative exercises. This promotes divergent thinkers.

Confidence Building

Confidence-building exercises helps students become aware of their uniqueness and their own leadership qualities. Such exercises include the spider web, walking the plank, and fish out of water.

Listening Skills

Leaders must learn to listen attentively to be effective. Exercises in listening both as a group, and in one-on-one conversations heighten the awareness of the importance of listening. Students also learn how to use active listening skills to make sure they understood what the person meant.
